Description

Not my favorite picture as BRS, but it's one of the few that the whole costume is visible in. Oh well.

Pardon my expressionless face-- Oh wait. BRS doesn't show expression often.

From A-Kon 2012

Construction Notes:
Wig was bought on eBay, however I butchered the long pigtail that came with it so I came up with this replacement pigtail the night before the con using a short clip-on, cotton batting, and spare black extensions from other wigs. I now have a proper 40" pigtail, though.

The bikini top, shorts, and belt were bought/from my closet.

The cloak is made from PVC vinyl, and then embroidered with spare white material stitched to resemble the kind you'd find on like, Girl Scout badges.

Bootcovers were the same deal, PVC vinyl and white bias tape. The flame over my eye is made out of binder dividers and is attached with spirit gum.

The cannon, though, was my biggest adventure. Being a prop noob, I didn't really have a clue what I was doing, and I'm amazed that it came out as well as it did. The base is a 8" diameter cement tube and a 4" diameter PVC pipe. From there, the cement tube was painted black with home decor/acrylic paint, and high density foam was then cut into circles and hot glued in to hold the PVC pipe in place. Next, cardboard was cut into 4 strips folded into triangles on each end to create the bevels, and then covered in electrical tape. Afterwards, more high density foam was cut into the shapes surrounding the pipe and covered in thermo-shrink plastic (I used Monokote), and attached with industry strength glue.

After that, the housing was made out of polystyrene blocks and cut appropriately, painted and monokote'd, hot glued together, and then slid onto the PVC pipe, and industry glued into place. The handle on the outside is made of spare wood I had lying around, and then drilled into the housing (It's actually unusable by design). Meanwhile, the real handle is within the cannon, and is a piece of PVC stuffed with foam drilled into the main PVC pipe. It's not actually done, because I still need to install the light on the inside, but it's good enough for now.

Don't own BRS, don't ever claim to. Just own meself, as usual.
